Rachel Toovey
Dr Rachel Toovey is a post-doctoral researcher and lecturer with the Physiotherapy Department at the University of Melbourne and research associate with CP-Achieve.
Rachel is committed to collaborating to create inclusive opportunities and environments for young people with disability to participate in meaningful physical activity. Rachel graduated from her PhD through the University of Melbourne and the Murdoch Children's Research Institute in December 2019. Her thesis developed and tested the effectiveness of a novel task-specific approach to training two-wheel bike skills in children with cerebral palsy. Rachel also holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and Master of Public Health. Her current areas of research and teaching are paediatrics, disability, motor learning, inclusive participation, health equity and First Nations health.
